When to choose fillers, and when Botox?

Botox and fillers work in a different way. Botox relaxes the mimic muscles and is intended for lines caused by movement, such as frown lines or crow's feet. Fillers, on the other hand, restore volume in areas where it has diminished over the years or bring subtle balance to facial contours. Sometimes a combination of both is the right choice. During the consultation we honestly discuss what best suits your wishes.

Which brand of filler do we use?

We work exclusively with Restylane by Galderma, a hyaluronic acid filler with a long track record and extensive scientific backing. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that we also have in our skin. If you are not satisfied with the results, we can dissolve it with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down the filler.

What are the risks and side effects?

Every medical procedure carries risks, including fillers. The most common side effects are slight swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These usually resolve on their own within a few days. Rare but more serious risks are vascular complications, infections, or uneven results. That is why we only work with experienced doctors who are trained to recognize and treat complications.

What if I am not satisfied?

We understand that this is a nerve-wracking question. The great thing about hyaluronic acid fillers is that they are reversible. If the result is unexpectedly not what you expected, we can dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase. How long does the result last?

Recovery time and what to expect

Most people can return to work immediately, but we advise not to schedule important appointments or events within 48 hours after treatment. The final result is usually seen after two weeks, when the filler has fully settled and any swelling has subsided.

Aftercare and lifestyle guidelines

For the best result, we provide you with clear lifestyle guidelines. In the first 24 hours, avoid intensive exercising, sauna, tanning beds, and alcohol. Refrain from touching the treated area as much as possible and sleep on your back the first night. Makeup can be reapplied the next day.
