Putjes in de kin zijn kleine oneffenheden die de huid van je kin een onrustige structuur geven, alsof er een sinaasappelschil overheen ligt. Daarom wordt het ook wel peau d'orange genoemd.
Het typische kenmerk: in rust valt het nauwelijks op, maar zodra je praat, glimlacht of je lippen op elkaar drukt, worden de putjes zichtbaarder. Je huid beweegt dan mee met de spier eronder.

Waar de putjes in je kin vandaan komen
Een hobbelige kin ontstaat door spieractiviteit in je kin. Spant je kinspier aan, dan trekt hij aan de huid erboven en ontstaat die typerende putjesstructuur. Daarom zie je het effect vooral bij het spreken of glimlachen.
Het is dus geen huidprobleem en geen kwestie van verzorging: de oorzaak zit in de spier, niet in de huid zelf. Verandert je kin plotseling van vorm of structuur, of komen er andere klachten bij, ga dan eerst langs je huisarts.

Niet elke oneffenheid op de kin is hetzelfde. Dit helpt je het uit elkaar te houden:
Putjes in de kin: meerdere kleine oneffenheden over de kin, die duidelijker worden bij mimiek. Dit is de huidstructuur waar deze pagina over gaat.
Eén vast kuiltje: zie je één kuiltje midden op je kin dat er ook is als je gezicht ontspannen is, dan gaat het om de vorm van je kin en niet om de huidstructuur.

Omdat de oorzaak in de spier zit, pak je putjes daar ook aan. Met een behandeling met botuline toxine in de kin ontspant je kinspier tijdelijk, waardoor de huid egaler wordt en je ondergezicht een verfijnde uitstraling krijgt. Botox is de bekende merknaam; de stofnaam is botulinumtoxine type A.

My appointment was with Neeltje and I can really recommend everyone to book with her. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, gave honest advice (even discouraged me from a treatment that didn't suit me) and the treatment itself was almost painless. Have been back twice since and will keep coming. The location in Utrecht is very accessible and the atmosphere is luxurious but not uncomfortable. 10/10.
