THE SHORT ANSWER
Can you get botox while pregnant?
No. Azzalure and Relfydess, the two types of botox Soap works with, may not be used during pregnancy according to their manufacturer. You can read it in the official package leaflet of Azzalure and of Relfydess (in Dutch).
The product information states, among other things, that there is not enough data on the use of botox in pregnant women. And botox is a cosmetic choice. It can simply wait until after your pregnancy.

BREASTFEEDING
Botox and breastfeeding
The manufacturers also say no while you are breastfeeding. Azzalure is not recommended during breastfeeding and Relfydess may not be used then.
Lareb, which provides information in the Netherlands on medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding, reports that botox probably passes into breast milk only in very small amounts or not at all. But this has only been studied in seven women, after a cosmetic treatment. There is no rush for a cosmetic treatment, so simply plan your botox after breastfeeding.
WHAT THE LABEL SAYS
Botox and fillers: what do the manufacturers say?
This is what the official product information of Azzalure, Relfydess and a Restylane lip filler says:
Product | Pregnancy | Breastfeeding |
|---|---|---|
Do not use | Not recommended | |
Do not use, also not if you can get pregnant without contraception | Do not use | |
Restylane Kysse (lip filler) | Safety not established | Safety not established |
For fillers our doctors work with Restylane, based on hyaluronic acid. The European instructions for use of a Restylane lip filler state that safety during pregnancy and in breastfeeding women has not been established. Curious about the difference between the two? Then read fillers or botox.

PLANNING A BABY?
Planning a baby and botox: what to keep in mind?
Do you want to get pregnant? Then it is also good to stop and think about botox. The manufacturer of Relfydess says: do not use it in women who can get pregnant and do not use contraception. The Azzalure package leaflet says: if you want to get pregnant, contact your doctor first.
The manufacturers do not mention a fixed waiting period. So always mention it in your consult if you want to get pregnant, and the doctor will think along with you.
