Chin fillers

With chin fillers your doctor places hyaluronic acid at the tip of your chin, and where needed along the chin line. A chin filler is a chin correction without surgery: a treatment of fifteen minutes to half an hour, with a result you see in the mirror straight away.

Our doctors never look at the chin alone. If your jawline is less defined or your midface lacks volume, they take that into account in the plan.

Our doctors mainly recommend chin fillers in these situations:

• A receding chin: your profile lacks some length or projection.

• Out of proportion: your chin looks small next to your nose or jawline.

• Less definition: the transition from chin to jaw is flat.

• Your whole lower face: then the doctor also looks at the jawline, the cheekbones and the volume in your cheeks.

A chin filler takes fifteen to thirty minutes. This is what your appointment looks like:

• Before: at Soap you can always book a free consult, with the option to be treated straight away. You get personal advice tailored to your face and desired result.

• During: your doctor places hyaluronic acid at the tip and where needed the edge of your chin, in small amounts at a time, and checks your profile from the side along the way.

• After: you carry on with your day straight away.

A chin filler works straight away and then settles a little more: after two to four weeks the result is at its best, once the hyaluronic acid has fully set.

After that it stays visible for six to twelve months on average, depending on the zone and the hyaluronic acid used. Your body then breaks it down naturally, so you decide yourself whether and when to repeat it.

A chin filler doesn't ask much of you, but the first days do count towards the final result.

What our doctors tell you:

• Leave it alone: touch the treated area as little as possible, so the hyaluronic acid settles calmly in place.

• Take it easy: drink enough water and preferably sleep with your head slightly raised the first night.

• Skip heat for a while: avoid intense exercise, sauna, sunbeds and hot showers for the first 24 to 48 hours. Alcohol too, on the first day.

• Don't massage: don't press or massage the area, unless your doctor explicitly advises it.

• Postpone other treatments: plan a facial, peel or face massage a week or two later.

Skip makeup for the first few hours. During your treatment you hear exactly what to pay attention to, and if you're unsure about anything, your doctor is there for you.

On our price list, Chin is from €350. Rates are the same at all our stores, so you pay the same in Amsterdam as in Maastricht.

Exactly what you need depends on the amount of hyaluronic acid that matches your wish. You hear that during the free consult, before you commit to anything. So you know beforehand what to expect and what it costs.

Around your chin there are three different wishes, and they call for three different treatments:

• More projection or length: a hyaluronic acid chin filler, the treatment on this page.

• A tighter jawline: Jaw Framing accentuates the line of your jaw.

• A restless or dimpled chin: Botox in the chin relaxes the chin muscle and makes the skin smoother.

So fillers and Botox do very different things, and are regularly combined for a complete result. During your free consult the doctor advises what suits your wish.
