NO CLUE? NO PROBLEM
Our doctors mainly recommend cheek fillers for:
Hollower or sunken cheeks: the volume just below your cheekbone has decreased.
A tired look: your face looks tired while you're not.
Less contour: then the focus is higher, on the cheekbone.
Hollow temples: volume loss higher in your face calls for a temple filler.
You decide together during a free consult which zone suits your face. Your doctor assesses your face from the front and the side, because volume loss shows most clearly from the side.
SMART SCIENCE
The fat under your skin gradually decreases and the underlying cheekbone slowly loses volume too. Together that makes the cheek hollower, especially just below the cheekbone. The skin itself also produces less collagen over the years and so gives less support.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body makes itself that attracts moisture and gives structure straight away, exactly where support has faded. At Soap we only work with Restylane, with variants for volume, for refining contours and for hydrating the skin.

QUICK TREATMENT, NATURAL FINISH
Cheek fillers take fifteen to thirty minutes. This is what your appointment looks like:

During: your doctor places hyaluronic acid in the cheek area with a fine needle or a cannula, in small amounts at a time, always assessed against your whole face.

RESULTS, RESULTS, RESULTS
Your midface gets support immediately and then settles a little more: after two to four weeks the result is at its best, once the hyaluronic acid has fully set.
After that it stays visible for six to twelve months on average, depending on the zone and the hyaluronic acid used. Your body then breaks it down naturally, so you decide yourself whether and when to repeat it.

TAKE IT EASY
Cheek fillers don't ask much of you, but the first days do count towards the final result.
What our doctors tell you:
Leave it alone: touch the treated area as little as possible, so the hyaluronic acid settles calmly in place.
Take it easy: drink enough water and preferably sleep with your head slightly raised the first night.
Skip heat for a while: avoid intense exercise, sauna, sunbeds and hot showers for the first 24 to 48 hours. Alcohol too, on the first day.
Don't massage: don't press or massage the area, unless your doctor explicitly advises it.
Postpone other treatments: plan a facial, peel or face massage a week or two later.
Skip makeup for the first few hours. During your treatment you hear exactly what to pay attention to, and if you're unsure about anything, your doctor is there for you.

My appointment was with Neeltje and I can really recommend everyone to book with her. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, gave honest advice (even discouraged me from a treatment that didn't suit me) and the treatment itself was almost painless. Have been back twice since and will keep coming. The location in Utrecht is very accessible and the atmosphere is luxurious but not uncomfortable. 10/10.
