Marionette lines run down from your mouth corners towards your chin. Together with your mouth corner they form a downward line, which can make your face look sterner or more tired than you mean.
Don't confuse them with the nasolabial fold: that one runs from your nose to your mouth corner. In many people the two merge, which is why they're often assessed together.
For some they mainly show when talking or smiling, for others they stay visible when the face is at rest.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN
Just like with the nasolabial fold, volume loss, skin ageing and your facial expressions play a role. If your cheeks lose volume, the line below can deepen.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Every treatment starts with a free consult. One of our doctors looks at your mouth corners at rest and in motion, and creates a tailored plan with you.
With a filler, the doctor places hyaluronic acid in the line with a fine needle or a thin cannula, in small amounts at a time, so the transition to your chin stays natural.
If you go for Botox in the mouth corners, it's a few small injections that relax the muscles pulling your mouth corner down. Just like with our fillers around the mouth, you simply carry on with your day afterwards.
