WHAT TO EXPECT
The procedure takes about half an hour under local anaesthetic and you go home the same day. We only ask you to rest that day: the day after you can do everything again, including work and exercise. After about seven days we remove the stitches.

Everyone heals at their own pace, but this is usually how it goes.
The day itself. After the operation you stay with us for half an hour in the recovery room with a healthy juice. Then you can go home, just don't drive yourself, so bring someone along. At home you take it easy: on the sofa or in bed, no light household tasks either. In the evening you apply the vaseline cream from your Soap bag to your eyelids.
From day two. The rest advice only applies for one day. The next day you can do everything again, including strenuous work and exercise. You keep using the vaseline cream two to three times a day.
The first week. Washing and showering is fine, because no bandage is applied. The small plasters on the ends of the stitches can get wet and stay on until the first check up.
After about seven days. You come back to us and we remove the stitches. During that check up we also assess the scar.
After about half a year. The skin has almost fully recovered and the scars are then barely visible.
Swelling, sensitivity and a tight feeling are part of normal recovery. How long that lasts differs per person, and your surgeon tells you beforehand what you can probably expect.

QUICK TREATMENT, NATURAL FINISH
Your eyelid surgery is generally done under local anaesthetic. That's why you usually don't need to fast, you can eat and drink normally beforehand, and you stay fully conscious during the treatment. At the intake you hear what applies to you.
Afterwards you recover in our recovery room, with a healthy juice. The treatment team checks how you feel and goes through the first hours and days with you.
You get a Soap bag with everything you need at home: the vaseline cream for the eyelids and clear instructions on wound care, showering, sleeping, moving, working and exercising.
BACK TO YOU, FAST
Only on the day of the operation itself do we ask you to really rest. That means on the sofa or in bed, and preferably no light household tasks either. That's for your own comfort and for a smooth recovery.
That advice applies to just one day. The next day you can do everything again, including strenuous work and exercise.
Good to know:
Driving: not yourself on the day itself, so bring someone along. When you can drive again yourself, you agree with your surgeon.
Showering and washing: fine, no bandage is applied.
Contact lenses: you take them out during the operation. Your surgeon tells you when you can put them back in. Eyelash extensions can stay, although we can't guarantee they'll all still be neatly in place afterwards.
Smoking: quitting isn't a requirement with us, but it does help. Not smoking improves skin quality and you recover faster.
Cooling: not needed with us. If a cool compress feels nice, go ahead.

SMOOTH, STILL YOU
With an upper eyelid correction the incision lies in the natural crease of the upper eyelid. So most of the scar disappears into a line that was already there, and over time it becomes practically invisible. With a lower eyelid correction it works the same way, in the crease of the lower eyelid.
You help that process yourself with the vaseline cream from your Soap bag. The first evening you apply it to the eyelids before going to sleep, and the days after two to three times a day. It feels nice and promotes good, fast healing.
After about half a year the skin has almost fully recovered and the scars are barely visible.

FRESH, NOT FROZEN
Right after the operation the final result usually isn't visible yet. The skin and underlying tissue need time and the swelling has to go down first. Scars then still change: over time they gradually become calmer and less noticeable.

Very hospitably received with a cup of coffee and given the time to prepare for the massage in a wonderfully serene and pleasantly warm room.
Enjoyed a wonderful massage with pleasant music (not too loud, not too soft), a nice temperature (not too warm, not too cold) and soft lighting. A very friendly and welcoming team. Highly recommended in The Hague!

Beautiful place, centrally located in Wyck and a stone's throw from the station - ideal for anyone who wants to quickly start their day beautifully. You are warmly received and the team works professionally, hygienically and above all very friendly: exactly how you want it when someone takes care of your hands.
The gel lacquer manicure is very well executed and looks like it can withstand the end of time. Not the cheapest option, but for €39, you get top quality and nails you want to keep

Was here last week for a follow up after my first treatment and I have to say, the consistency in the level of care here is impressive. Every staff member I've spoken to has been knowledgeable, friendly, and never makes you feel rushed. The clinic itself is beautifully designed - calming without feeling clinical. I have been coming here for at least 10 years and have always been very satisfied.
